Juventus will reportedly only be without Cristiano Ronaldo for one UEFA Champions League game following his red card against Valencia on Wednesday, meaning he would be available to face former club Manchester United.<br />

The Portuguese was sent off in the first half of the clash after it appeared he tugged on the hair of Jeison Murillo.<br />
<br />
 The dismissal carries a standard one-game ban, although UEFA could have extended the sanction to two or three matches.<br />

However, according Richard Tanner of the Daily Mirror, that's unlikely to be the case for Ronaldo. It means that while he would miss the European showdown with Young Boys, he would be available for both matches against former club Manchester United later in the competition.<br />

"There is no right of appeal over the one-game ban, but sources say that disciplinary officials, who have viewed television footage of the incident, do not regard Ronaldo's indiscretion as worthy of an increased punishment, even though he took a long time to leave the pitch amid heated protests," added Tanner.<br />
The dismissal was a disappointing way for Ronaldo to start his Champions League career with Juventus, having joined from Real Madrid in the summer. The Portuguese inspired Los Blancos to win the last three editions of the tournament, as well as four of the last five.<br />

Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has said that his overhead bicycle kick goal for Real Madrid against his current club in the Champions League last season was better than Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah’s goal which won the FIFA goal of the year award.<br />
The Portuguese wrote on Instagram, “Salah deserved to win the Puskas award, it was a good goal. But let’s be honest, let’s not lie to ourselves, my goal was the best.”<br />
The 33-year-old also congratulated former Real Madrid teammate Luka Modric for winning the FIFA best player award.<br />
Ronaldo lost out on both the Puskas award and FIFA The Best Player award to Liverpool’s Salah and Modric respectively.<br />
Salah won the award for his curling strike against Everton in the Premier League in December.<br />
Ronaldo continued, “I’m not disappointed, life is like that, sometimes you win and others lose, what interests me is that in 15 years of career I managed to maintain the same levels of performance.<br />
“Awards are awards… I already have a lot. I play to win and not to win awards.<br />

Manchester United legend, Ryan Giggs has revealed what he expects from manager, Jose Mourinho’s men when they take on Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge in the Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon.<br />
United head to the game following a 3-2 win over Newcastle in their last Premier League fixture, while Chelsea defeated Southampton 3-0.<br />
Giggs said he expects Mourinho’s side to rise up to the occasion and challenge the Blues in front of their home fans.<br />
The Wales coach added that for the Red Devils to be among top clubs on the Premier League table this campaign they must start to beat big teams.<br />
“There’s lots being spoken about Manchester United and Jose Mourinho, but if you go back to the last game against Newcastle then them coming back like that you’d hope would give them massive confidence,” Giggs told Sky Sports.<br />
“It’s the start of a massive period for them with Chelsea, live on Sky Sports, and Juventus coming up and also Manchester City not too far away, so they’ll need that confidence.<br />
“This is the period that United need to be getting up for the games and I wouldn’t be surprised if they come through this period pretty well because they are capable of playing against and matching the good teams.<br />
“I was at the game against Newcastle and the visitors played really well in the first half and you sometimes get that.<br />
“I played in games where you’re down 1-0 or 2-0 and you’re forced to go for it. With the attacking ability they’ve got they’ve always got a chance.”<br />
Giggs added: “Anthony Martial didn’t play well in the first half but in the second he came out flying and that’s nothing to do with the manager, that’s the player doing it for themselves, so sometimes you can’t put everything on the manager.<br />
“They got three goals in the last game so obviously the attacking threats are there, obviously you’d like to get that attacking intent for 90 minutes but if you play like that against Chelsea and go 1-0 down it’s a long way back – you can possibly get away with it against so-called lesser teams.<br />
“So this period really is crucial for Manchester United – if you beat teams around you then it gives you not only three points but huge confidence as well so if they come through this period with a couple of wins against the big teams then they’re back in it.<br />
“I’m not saying they can challenge for the title but they’re well capable of at least being up there and in these big games if one manager knows how to dig out results it’s Mourinho.”<br />

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Nigerian player, Sheyi Ojo will be loaned out of Anfield before the end of this summer’s transfer window.<br />
Ojo spent the whole of last season on loan at Fulham and before then, he was sent out on loan to Wigan Athletic and Wolverhampton Wanderers.<br />
The 21-year-old impressed in the Reds’ pre-season matches but has found himself further down the pecking order following the signing of Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City last month.<br />
In an interview with the club’s official website, Klopp said: ”Here, it is a little bit difficult, especially for the offensive players.<br />
“Ojo played a fantastic pre-season, really good and confident technically anyway, really strong, improved a lot in tactical things and his attitude was great.<br />
”For me, he is a no-brainer, to be honest, and I think that will happen. It makes sense for him to go on loan. That’s how it is for a few of the others.<br />

The first Vice President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi has said that he hopes that Chelsea winger, Victor Moses will change his mind and return to the Super Eagles ahead of Nigeria’s clash with Seychelles in the AFCON qualifiers.<br />
Recall that Moses retired from international football two weeks ago.<br />
Akinwunmi, who is also the chairman of Lagos State Football Association, disclosed this while speaking with sports journalists in Abuja on Wednesday.<br />
He, however, said that he is confident that Gernot Rohr’s men will be victorious in match-day 2 slated for September 8, 2018 in Seychelles.<br />
“We have the right attitude to work and the experience from the World Cup recently will help the team. Our players now play regularly for their clubs at the beginning of the season. I do not expect anything than a victory,” Akinwunmi said.<br />
“Now we have players that have played at the World Cup and that kind of experience tells us many things that we do not know before, Iwobi was a bit part player with Arsenal and the new coach has included him in the squad leading to him scoring against Chelsea.<br />
“I hope Victor Moses changes his mind and come back. People have been speculating why he left in the first place, I do not care, I hope that the coach can convince him to comeback because he will be a great addition to the team,” he concluded.

Chelsea and Leicester City have reacted to Super Eagles’ 3-2 victory over Libya in the 2019 African Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifying encounter played on Tuesday night in Sfax.<br />
Nigeria had gone two goals up in the opening 17 minutes courtesy of Odion Ighalo and Ahmed Musa, before Mohamed Zubya and Ahmad Benali levelled for the hosts.<br />
However, Ighalo struck his fifth goal in three days against Libya, to seal three points.<br />
The two Premier League clubs monitored the game due to their respective players: Ola Aina and Wilfred Ndidi, who were in action for Gernot Rohr’s side.<br />
In their match review, Chelsea stated through their official website, that: ”In Africa Cup of Nations qualifying, Ola Aina played the full game as Nigeria edged a five-goal thriller against Libya.<br />
”The defender, who is on loan at Italian side Torino, started at right-back for the Super Eagles, who were 2-0 up inside 17 minutes thanks to goals from Odion Ighalo and Ahmed Musa.<br />
”The home side hit back, however, and after reducing the deficit 10 minutes before the break, Libya drew level 16 minutes from time.<br />
”There was still time for a further twist, though, and with just nine minutes remaining Ighalo scored his second goal of the game to win it for the visitors”.<br />
On their part also through their official website, Leicester City said: ”City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi also played the full 90 minutes as Nigeria defeated Libya 3-2 to go top of Africa Cup of Nations Group E.<br />
”An Odion Ighalo brace and a strike from former Fox Ahmed Musa were enough to secure victory for the Super Eagles, who were without City’s Kelechi Iheanacho, in Tunisia.”

Nigerian defender, Timi Sobowale has completed his transfer to Manchester City.<br />
Sobowale was linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur, having played for their U16s in a tournament in the Netherlands, but the Premier League champions have won the race for his signature.<br />
City had extensively scouted Sobowale before handing him a contract.<br />
The Citizens monitored Sobowale when the Republic of Ireland U15 national team faced Netherlands in a friendly back in February 2017.<br />
”I’ve just started so this is my first season,” Sobowale told City’s official website.<br />
“The rest of the guys have helped to make me feel really welcome. Everyone has been great.”<br />
Sobowale will play for City’s U18 team in the 2018-2019 season.

Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has responded to questions regarding Kathryn Mayorga’s rape accusations. According to Tuttosport, the Portuguese striker spoke to a few fans during his holidays claiming: “I know I am innocent, so I am calm.”<br />

Meantime the lawyers of the former Real Madrid and Man United star are working night and day to prove his innocence in the alleged rape case. Mrs. Mayorga claims Ronaldo attacked her in a hotel room in Las Vegas in summer 2009 when the striker was about to swap Man United with Real Madrid.<br />

The Las Vegas Police have re-opened the case.<br />

Meantime in the UK, The Sun claims Ronaldo has received further accusations from other women. One of them could be the so-called ‘Ruby Rubacuori’ who was also involved in a sex scandal with former AC Milan and Italy Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.<br />

Cristiano Ronaldo allegedly laid out rules about taking STD tests in the secret contract he ordered his rape accuser to sign.<br />
The documents, signed in 2010, reveal details of the £287,000 agreement which required the woman to remain silent about her claims.<br />
Kathryn Mayorga, a 34-year-old teacher, says the ex-Manchester United forward s*xually assaulted her at the Palms Casino Resort in June 2009, while he celebrated his big money move to Real Madrid.<br />

Kathryn Mayorga has fled Las Vegas and gone into hiding since the news broke<br />
According to the documents published in Der Spiegel, the football star's accuser Ms Mayorga was to be paid the money within seven days.<br />
The website reported there was "no reason to doubt the authenticity of the documents" and noted Ronaldo's legal team had not done so.<br />
The documents contain a clause stating that should she test positive for a STD, Ronaldo would have to undergo a test for that particular disease - presumably in order to exclude or confirm him as the source.<br />
There is no suggestion that either party needed to or did undertake such tests.<br />
It also published what it claimed was a copy of the police report filed just hours after the alleged rape.<br />
This describes her as crying and refusing to give the name of her alleged attacker, saying only he was a "public figure" and an "athlete".<br />

Ronaldo denies all the accusations of s*xual misconduct and has been backed by his new club Juventus.<br />
He used a team of fixers – agents, lawyers and private investigators – to thrash out a £287,000 settlement with Ms Mayorga in 2010.<br />
But she now claims she only signed because she was terrified of "retaliation" and "public humiliation" and her lawyers are now suing Ronaldo.<br />
The lawsuit alleges Ronaldo told his representatives that she said "no" and "stop" several times.<br />
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has also re-opened its investigation into the alleged rape.<br />
Ms Mayorga has fled Las Vegas and gone into hiding since the story broke.<br />

Ronaldo, Chelsea stars, Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante have been nominated for this year’s Ballon d’or award.<br />
According to Metro UK, France Football announced the stars to make the 30-man list on Monday, with Premier League stars, Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero, Robert Firmino being among the first ten to make the cut.<br />
Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona ace, Lionel Messi have dominated the award in the past decade.<br />
The pair had won an incredible five awards each, with Ronaldo equaling Messi’s tally last year.<br />
The 2018 Ballon d’ Or award will take place on 3rd December, 2018 in Paris.<br />
A panel of journalists, one from every country, will decide the winner and will grade their nominees in three categories: performances during the calendar year, talent and fair play, and achievements throughout a career.<br />

Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson, Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and Paris St-Germain attacker Edinson Cavani are amongst the five announced nominees.<br />
While the rest of the 30-man list of nominees will be revealed throughout the day.<br />
The ceremony to announce the winner will take place in Paris on 3 December, when a women's award will be presented for the first time.<br />

Brazil legend, Cafu has said that Juventus star, Cristiano Ronaldo, ‘will suffer’ a little in the Serie A compared to how easy he found life in the La Liga.<br />
Ronaldo left Real Madrid as their all-time highest goalscorer to join the Serie A champions earlier this summer in a 100-million-euro deal.<br />
The 33-year-old did not manage to find the net in his first three Serie A games before he eventually scored his first goal for Juve against Sassuolo on September 16.<br />
The Portuguese captain scored three goals and provided four in his last three league games, but Cafu still believes that the Italian topflight league will be much tougher for him.<br />
“He will suffer a little in the Serie A because Serie A is a lot more difficult than La Liga in terms of the contrast in teams and in terms of the physical contact,” Cafu told ESPN.<br />
He added, “But Ronaldo is always Cristiano Ronaldo. [He is the] best player in the world and will give a little more star power to Serie A.”
